On Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. the Rio Dell City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall Council Chambers concerning the establishment, administration and dates for a temporary increase in the Transaction and Use (Sales) Tax of 1% and adopted Ordinance No. 326-2014.

Calling for Qualified Contractors – Lists for Informal Bidding

In accordance with Section 22034 of the Public Contract Code, the City of Rio Dell, CA is developing lists of qualified contractors for the following categories of work for 2014:

  • Paving and Grinding Operations
  • Pipelines
  • General Building and Demolition
  • Landscaping
  • Striping
  • Solar/Wind Energy
  • Concrete
  • Electrical

The City Public Works Director will maintain a list of qualified contractors for each of the categories of work listed for informal bidding of projects within the City.  In order to be considered for one of the lists, each contractor must submit the following:

  1. Provide the name and address to which a Notice to Contractors or Proposal should be mailed and a phone number at which you can be reached
  2. Identify the type of work for which you are currently licensed and the category of work to be listed
  3. Provide your California Contractor’s License Number and class of contractor’s license held

 

To be considered for the lists above, please submit the required information in writing to the City of Rio Dell at 675 Wildwood Avenue, Rio Dell, California, 95562.  The City of Rio Dell requests that you submit this information by March 21, 2014, to be included on the initial list.  However, a contractor may be added to the list at any time during the year by submitting the required information to the City   For more detailed information, contact the City Manager/PW Director at (707) 764-3532 or .

City of Rio Dell Planning Commission Notice of Public Hearing

On Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, the Rio Dell Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chamber at City Hall to consider the project listed below. 1. Dollar General; An application for a Conditional Use Permit for the Design Review of a proposed 9,100 square foot Dollar General Store. Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Dollar General Corporation is the nation’s largest small-box discount retailer of top-quality brands made by America’s most-trusted manufacturers, such as Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Unilever, Kellogg’s, General Mills and Nabisco.

Project Location: The project site is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Wildwood Avenue and Davis Street on property known as 44 Davis Street.

California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA): The project is subject to the City‘s Design Review requirements, Section 17.25.050 of the Rio Dell Municipal Code (RDMC). Design Review itself does not trigger review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for projects that are otherwise exempt. Because the use is principally permitted, it is considered a ministerial project. Pursuant to Section 15268 of the CEQA Guidelines, Title 14, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations the project is statutorily exempt.

Any person may appear and present testimony in regard to the project at the hearing. If you challenge the nature of the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues that you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission, at, or prior to, the public hearing.

The Planning Commission needs 10 copies of any materials submitted either prior to, or at the meeting. The Planning Commission’s decision will become effective if an appeal is not filed within the appropriate filing period. An appeal may be filed by any aggrieved person and must be submitted in writing with the required fees to the City of Rio Dell before the end of the appeal period. If appealed, the decision will not become effective until the appeal is resolved.

City of Rio Dell Income Survey

The City of Rio Dell is conducting an Income Survey to gather essential information to support applications for grant funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. In order to qualify for potential grants, the City needs to demonstrate that at least 51% of the City households are low to moderate income.

Surveys were mailed out in early February. The City needs to have at least 400 responses in order for the Survey to be considered a valid Survey. If you have not completed the Survey, please stop by City Hall and pick-up a copy or call the City at (707) 764-3532 and the City will mail you a copy, including a self addressed stamped envelope.
